
Mark McBrine is a visionary scratch cook, organic farmer, and collaborator who is passionate about serving nutritious meals that are locally grown and internally produced. He has managed three kitchens, a five-acre organic garden, and a food-service and market-farm vocational program, and received the Association of Correctional Food Services Affiliates 2022 Operator of the Year Award. His work at the Maine Department of Corrections led him to create the multi-award-winning documentary Seeds of Change, filmed over two years and chronicling Mark's life and the experiences of incarcerated men growing food in a five-acre prison garden. Mark and his wife own a 47-acre diversified farm and have farmed organically for more than 30 years, producing for schools, institutions, farmers' markets, CSAs, senior farm shares, and food cooperatives.
